"Business of Blockchain" Commercialization Lab

December 5 - 7th, 2018

New York City

Overview of the Lab

Blockchain holds so much potential for decentralization, new systems, efficiencies, and new markets. Yet, as with any new technology, there are major challenges for commercialization.

The Springboard Enterprises "Business of Blockchain" Commercialization Lab will accelerate seven women-led, seed to Series A-stage companies who use blockchain as a core technology. The goal of the program is to help the participants advance their startups through enhanced messaging, milestone achievement, market traction and investment, to successfully commercialize their solutions.

This interactive two and a half day program is designed to address key commercialization strategies for entrepreneurs developing blockchain technology solutions. The agenda will be comprised of interactive feedback-driven presentation sessions and roundtable discussions, and will enlist seasoned entrepreneurs, industry executives, and blockchain experts in the sessions. Following the program, entrepreneurs will be matched with experts for three months of office hours with key advisors, to continue work on their most pressing challenges and most promising opportunities for commercialization and revenue growth.

Topics include:

·       Company Milestones and Go-to-Market Deep Dive

·       Technology Deep Dive

·       B2B Blockchain Sales

·       Partnering and Securing Pilots

·       Regulatory Landscape

·       Sources of Capital

·       ICOs and Fund Management

·       Ecosystem Resources

This program is designed to:

  1. Provide blockchain companies with relevant resources to build scalable, economically impactful companies – Springboard’s programs have an 18-year track record of proven results and are designed to give entrepreneurs resources and access to experts relevant to their near-term challenges.

  2. Deliver targeted help – Prior to the Lab, accepted entrepreneurs will be asked about their main needs and challenges, and panels and breakout sessions will be constructed to address these. The Bootcamp will allow us to learn at a much deeper level about the collective challenges of the group, which will inform the participation of select experts who will make themselves available for Office Hours.

  3. Create a helpful, feedback driven environment – The entire program is designed to be entrepreneur-centric, with direct and honest feedback in an atmosphere of support that is a signature of Springboard’s programs.

At this early stage of blockchain technology solution development, it was informative to see blockchain startups at their various phases. The program provided a great mechanism for the participating companies to get important feedback, so that the entrepreneurs could reevaluate their approaches and opportunities. The quality of the participants was very high all around.
— Mike Myung, Director of Emerging Tech, Capital One
